Please read carefully to fully understand our cancellation policy and other important information
COVID 19 Cross State Travel mandates will be strictly enforced and Covid Compliance sheets will be filled out by travelers prior to departure. We will require masks on all of our passengers and will adhere to the current CDC and State of Vermont mandates in place.
Tours Include: Transportation (motor coach, train, airplane or boat), accommodations, certain meals, sightseeing and attractions as listed in itinerary. All gratuities for meals, attractions and taxes are included.
Tours do not include: Items of a personal nature (phone calls, souvenirs, etc.), or gratuities for your tour director, driver or local step-on guide.
Gratuities: Gratuities can be awkward for many people. A guideline for tipping your Tour Director and Driver is $4.00 – $5.00 per person, per day. As with all service related businesses, you should tip based on services received. Envelopes will be provided in your tour information packet for your convenience.
Reservations: Reservations can be made via telephone, email, our website or in person. Plan early to be sure you get a seat on get the trip you desire.
Payments: For one-day tours, full payment is due with your reservation. For multi-day tours, a deposit of 20% per person is required unless a higher amount is specified. The due date for the balance will be announced on the bill. We accept cash, check, Visa, Master Card, Discover Card. All tour prices subject to change due to adjustments in the cost of the trip. Please note that there is a 5% service fee for credit cards.
Passengers with Disabilities or Special Needs: Passengers requiring special care and/or assistance must notify us of their particular needs at time of booking. While we would be pleased to try to accommodate the special needs of all our passengers, we may not be able to do so for safety, health or other reasons. If you require assistance, you must have an able travel companion accompany you on the trip. Passengers must provide their own special equipment such as wheel chairs, oxygen etc. Waivers may be required by Catamount Tours for the liability for such equipment.
Cancellation Policy: Once tickets/admissions are purchased on behalf of travelers, they become non-refundable and/or can be subject to name-change fees. Also, Catamount Tours, as your agent, commits to tickets, transportation, meals and lodging and many of these fees are non-refundable. You will be responsible for these charges in addition to a $50 administrative fee per person for any cancellation. Refunds will be issued approximately 4 – 6 weeks after the trip has ended. There are NO refunds for cancellations 7 days prior to departure of a tour.
IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT TRAVELER’S INSURANCE:
- You must purchase the insurance within 10 days after your initial deposit. The “Basic Plan” does not include pre-existing condition exclusion.
- Medicare does not cover expenses incurred outside the United States. Typically, a temporary rider is used to cover unforeseen medical emergencies while out of the Country. Please check directly with your insurance company to find how medical emergencies are covered while traveling within or outside of the United States.
- Travel insurance does cover medical costs provided the costs are not due to a ‘pre-existing’ condition (unless you opt for the upgraded insurance plan).
Accommodations: The per person tour cost is going to be lower as the number of people in one room increases. Therefore, the rate for a single room is higher than the rate for a quad (4 people per room). Single rooms are limited. Triple and quad rooms usually have two double beds. Catamount Tours LLC does not arbitrarily room persons together. Passengers must select their own roommates and communicate to Catamount Tours LLC, in writing, the names of the travelers who will be their roommates.
Child Discount: Children 12 years old and younger will receive a discount of 10% off the applicable rate while they share the same room with their parents. Child must be 12 years or younger at the time of trip, and proof of age is required within five days of reservation.
Baggage Allowance & Liability: Baggage service is provided for some of our tours, but not all. Each person is allowed one large suitcase and one carry-on. The carry-on is to be handled by the traveler who will assume full responsibility for it. Please mark all baggage with your name, address and phone number. Catamount Tours LLC will provide luggage tags for your larger bag. Catamount Tours LLC cannot assume liability for damaged or lost baggage. Insurance is recommended for loss or damage of personal belongings including baggage. On multi-day tours, carry-on bags must be stowed in the cargo bay under the bus. Travelers will be responsible for transporting these bags to and from the hotel.
Departure Times & Pick up Points: Catamount Tours LLC is not responsible for your automobile in the parking lots of your pick-up point. All parking is at your own risk and/or expense. If you decide to change your pick-up point, it is important to let us know in advance. Our departure times are indicated on the itinerary you will receive when full payment for the tour is received by Catamount Tours. In fairness to other passengers, we cannot wait for someone who is late therefore; we ask that you arrive at your designated pick-up point fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Departure times are subject to change and you will be notified of any changes prior to the tour.
Event Changes: If an event such as a show or baseball game is cancelled due to weather or anything else that is beyond our control, Catamount Tours LLC cannot be held responsible for ticket refunds. Travel insurance does cover this expense.
Smoking & Alcohol: Smoking is not permitted on any motor coach. There will be rest stops to accommodate those who wish to smoke. Alcohol is also prohibited on all motor coach tours.
Responsibility: All rates are subject to change. Catamount Tours LLC reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to make changes in itineraries and is not responsible to any person for expense, loss of time, money or other circumstances resulting from a change in itinerary or change of tour arrangement made for tour participants. Catamount Tours LLC is not responsible for other services, loss, injury or damage to any person or property however caused, or for any delays, extra expenses or inconveniences caused by weather, acts of God or passenger deviations.
Weather Policy: Catamount Tours, LLC policy is to travel unless roads are closed. This means that rain, snow, sleet or hail, the tour normally goes!
New Passport Regulations/International (including Canada) Border Requirements: As of June 1, 2009, all persons, including U.S. citizens, traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean or Bermuda by land or sea ports-of-entry (including ferries), will be required to present a valid passport, passport card or Enhanced Driver’s License. Non U.S. citizens must have a valid passport or Alien Card. A regular Driver’s License in NOT proof of citizenship but may be requested as additional ID. You, as the traveler will be responsible for providing the proper form of I.D. Boarding a tour without sufficient I.D. will not warrant a refund. Note: You should take action at least three to four months prior to tour departure if you need to apply for or to renew your passport. Check your current passport, noting the date that it expires to assure it will be valid at time of travel.
Terms of Service: Catamount Tours, LLC acts only in the capacity of agent for the tour participant. We in no way represent, nor act as agent, for travel service suppliers such as hotel/motels, restaurants, sightseeing attractions or tours and transportation companies. As such, we accept no responsibility or liability caused by the defect or negligence or default of any company or person engaged in carrying out or performing any of the services involved. We cannot be held responsible for events beyond our control such as (without limitations) acts of God, declared or undeclared war, strikes, government restrictions, terrorist activities, defects in vehicles, breakdown of equipment, delay, or cancellation of, or changes in itinerary or schedule.
We reserve the right to make changes in the published itineraries whenever, in our sole judgment, conditions so warrant, or if we deem it necessary for the comfort, convenience or safety of our tour participants. We reserve the right to withdraw without penalty any tour announced. Our sole liability upon cancellation of a tour is the refund of money paid. We also reserve the right to decline to accept any person as a participant in a tour or to end an individual’s participation in a tour at any time when such an action is determined by the appropriate Catamount Tours, LLC staff to be in the best interests of the health, safety and general well-being of the tour group as a whole or of the individual participant. Any dispute or controversy that might be the subject of any action in court shall be governed by the laws of the State of Vermont and shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the terms and conditions of Title 12, Vermont Statutes Annotated, Chapter 192.
Acknowledgment: I understand that this agreement with Catamount Tours, LLC contains an agreement to arbitrate. After consenting hereto, I understand that I will not be able to bring a lawsuit concerning any dispute that may arise which is covered by the arbitration agreement, unless it involves a question of constitutional or civil rights. Instead, I agree to submit any such dispute to an impartial arbitrator. Your partial or full payment or signature on a Catamount Tours, LLC trip constitutes consent to all provisions of the conditions and general information listed here.
